Same as Art History 328J. Early Islamic art and architecture, with an emphasis on interconnections between the Islamic world and Europe. Examines unique ways Islamic visual culture developed out of the classical and late antique world. Artworks will be contextualized within early Islamic history, religion, and culture. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
