An introduction to the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe through each of the major disciplines represented in the program: language, literature, anthropology, geography, history, government, sociology, and economics. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Government 314 (Topic 4), History 301R, 306N (Topic 4), Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies 301.
