Examine bilingual language development and speech and language disorders in bilingual children with a special focus on Spanish-English bilingualism. Explore disorder areas including developmental language disorders, speech sound disorders, and fluency. Consider bilingual language development in cultural and linguistic contexts. Explore current issues in provision of speech-language pathology services to children from bilingual backgrounds and adapting procedures to equitably meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse families. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Prerequisite: Graduate standing.
