AFR 315T AFR 315T. African American Literature and Culture. 3 Hours.
Same as English 314V (Topic 1). Explores texts, drawn from a variety of genres and periods, that indicate the range of African American experiences and how those experiences are influenced by issues such as class, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and race. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: African and African Diaspora Studies 315T, 317F (Topic 1), English 314V (Topic 1). Prerequisite: One of the following: English 303C (or 603A), Rhetoric and Writing 306, 306Q, or Tutorial Course 303C (or 603A).
