Examines the Black Power Movement through the experiences of African American women activists as well as gender and sexuality constructs that prevailed during the second half of the twentieth century Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: African and African Diaspora Studies 350G, 374D (Topic: Women, Gender, and Black Power), History 350R (Topic: Women, Gender, and Black Power), 350R (Topic 41), Women's and Gender Studies 340 (Topic: Women, Gender, and Black Power), 340 (Topic 70). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing and six semester hours of coursework in history.
