Examine the legal, political, and philosophical intersection of blackness, whiteness, and drugs in the late twentieth century through film, music, and literature. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: African and African Diaspora Studies 331D, 370 (Topic: Drugs in Afr Am Lit/Culture), American Studies 334, English 345D. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
