Same as African and African Diaspora Studies 352Q, Anthropology 323O, and Geography 328F. Explore the relationship between Blackness and the production of space and place. Examine the tensions and possibilities that emerge when Black people are rendered un-geographic as a fundamental component of racial capitalism while they are simultaneously creating spaces of freedom under constant threats to Black life. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
