Examines ways in which Asia and other areas of the globe have had connected intellectual, artistic, and social developments with focus on world histories centrally involving Asia from the medieval period to the present. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Anthropology 322F, 324L (Topic: Big Asian Histories), Asian Studies 361 (Topic: Big Asian Histories), 361M, History 340V, 364G (Topic: Big Asian Histories). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
