Restricted to biomedical engineering majors. Introduces principles and techniques of numerical analysis of biomedical engineering problems. Examines numerical methods of integration, differentiation, interpolation, curve fitting, data analysis, sampling and estimation, error analysis, analysis of ordinary differential equations, numerical modeling of biomedical engineering systems, symbolic computation, and scientific visualization. Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours a week for one semester. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: The following coursework with a grade of at least C-: Biomedical Engineering 303 or Computational Engineering 301, Biomedical Engineering 303L (or 203L), and Mathematics 427J.
