Application of engineering principles in the conception, design and prototyping of medical devices. Development of team projects with emphasis on clinical and market needs analysis, creative and useful concept generation, engineering requirements and specifications, and written and oral reporting of intermediate and final prototype outcomes. Only one of the following may be counted: Biomedical Engineering 363E, 377T (Topic: Medical Device Design and Manufacturing), Mechanical Engineering 371D, 379M (Topic: Medical Device Design and Manu). Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
