Explores the dilemmas of homicide, suicide, patricide, and redemption in the novels of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Comparative Literature 323 (Topic 30), Core Texts and Ideas 345 (Topic 5), 346, European Studies 347 (Topic 10), Russian 360 (Topic 1), Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies 325 (Topic 10). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
