Investigate concurrency, lock-based and lock-free synchronization, resource allocation, multi-threaded programming, distributed systems programming, mutual exclusion, global snapshots, global property evaluation, message ordering, consensus, Byzantine agreement, and commit protocols. Electrical and Computer Engineering 360P and Electrical Engineering 360P may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
