Examine the specific national approaches to foreign and domestic intelligence and espionage of former Communist bloc countries from early twentieth century to the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: European Studies 348 (Topic 19), Government 324E, Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies 335 (Topic 36). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
