I 305 I 305. Research Methods for Informatics. 3 Hours.

Restricted to informatics majors and students pursuing the informatics minor. Explore diverse research approaches to investigate informatics-related problems. Examine principles and hands-on practices of data collection and analysis with respect to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed research methods. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Informatics 305 and Informatics 310 (topic: Resrch Methods for Informatics) may not both be counted. Offered on the letter-grade basis only.

European Studies



Students select one of three tracks: (I) European studies with a focus on pre-1700 Europe, (II) European studies with a focus on post-1700 Europe, or (III) European studies with a focus on European thought. The tracks are interdisciplinary in nature and draw on courses in many departments and allow students considerable opportunity to shape their coursework around their interests.




An 18 hour core requirement consisting of: Geography 301C and one other course in physical geography Geography 305 and one other course in human geography Two geography courses in methods/techniques At least nine semester hours in one of the following tracks: Geographic information science Cultural geography Sustainability General geography (designed for students who do not wish to specialize at the undergraduate level) Urban geography Earth science Landscape ecology and biogeography

Forty-eight semester hours of coursework, at least 30 of which must be upper-division, consisting of the following:

Women’s and Gender Studies



Thirty semester hours of coursework in women’s and gender studies, 18 hours of which must be upper-division. It is recommended that six semester hours be taken in women’s and gender studies courses originating from outside the College of Liberal Arts.
