Same as European Studies 347 (Topic 51) and Women's and Gender Studies 340 (Topic 92). Analysis of Italian television commercials in order to identify changes that have taken place at the level of language, with some attention to socio-cultural dynamics. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: European Studies 347 (Topic: Itl TV Ads: Fashion/Food/Cars), 347 (Topic 51), Italian Civilization 338, 349 (Topic: Itl TV Ads: Fashion/Food/Cars), Women's and Gender Studies 340 (Topic: Itl TV Ads: Fashion/Food/Cars), 340 (Topic 92). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
