Same as Asian Studies 340Q, History 339S, and Religious Studies 358I. Explore Sufism and other Islamic mystical traditions that color cultural milieus spanning four continents and fourteen centuries. Focus on the historical developments in the Islamic theosophical tradition, as well as the relationship between Sufism and poetics, colonialism, and post-colonial resistance movements. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
