Explore fundamental concepts of global health, including social, political, and economic determinants of health for Costa Rica. Examine culture, health care systems, and health outcomes. Assess disease management in these environments from a primary care perspective. Consider how to empower people within their communities to manage their health through evidence-based practice, research, and education. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Nursing 390D and 390E may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Graduate standing; and consent of the Education Abroad Program Coordinator.
