PGE 311 PGE 311. Numerical Methods and Programming. 3 Hours.
Restricted to geosystems engineering and hydrogeology and petroleum engineering majors. Introduction to computer programming and mathematical equations typically encountered in petroleum and geosystems engineering; methods to visualize data and solve engineering and mathematical equations with numerical methods; and applications of computers to general problem solving. Three lecture hours a week for one semester Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering 310 and 311 may not both be counted. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Physics 303K and 105M with a grade of at least C- in each and credit with a grade of at least C- or registration for Mathematics 427J.
