Explores optics, image formation, functioning of epifluorescent and confocal microscopes, detector technology (cameras and photomultiplier tubes), immunofluorescence techniques, image analyses, and image presentation for publication. Study of the technology and science behind widely-used high-end microscope systems. One lecture hours and two lab hours a week for one semester Pharmacy Graduate Studies 288K (Topic: FNDMNTLS OF FLUORSCNC MICRSCPY) and 288M may not both be counted. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
