Rigorous definitions of syntax and semantics. Proofs of soundness and completeness of sentential and predicate logics; other topics in metatheory. May include extensions of and alternatives to classical logic. Philosophical significance of logic and metalogical results. Three hours a week for one semester.
Pre/Corequisites: Graduate standing and consent of the graduate adviser.
