Explores the different ways in which religion has helped to define the political, social, and philosophical structures of Latin America from colonial times to the present. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: History 350L (Topic 76), Latin American Studies 366 (Topic 25), Religious Studies 368 (Topic 3), 368E. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
