Advanced introduction to scientific computing, theory and application of numerical linear algebra, solution of nonlinear equations, and numerical approximation of functions. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics 383K and Mathematics 387C may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Graduate standing, and consent of instructor or the graduate adviser.
